Tax time is 24 days past - if you are a farmer. Have to have it completed by March 1st.
You must just have some 1099's, and so you could flat-tax that?
Now, let's say a farmer grosses 600 an acre, but has to pay 200 for rent, and 35 for seed, and... Well anyhow, you'd have to get to everyone's _net_ income, so - still a lot of paperwork. Or else, your food will get taxed on the farmer, then on the shipper, then on the miller, then on the baker, and then on the retail store - how much you think your food would cost?
What about contributions? They wouldn't be deductable with a flat tax.
It sounds good, but it really wouldn't help all that much.
My fear is that they keep the tax we have, and just add a national sales tax on top of things as they are!
It does have a lot of appeal to it, if it would be run right.
