those are wheel lines, each "wheeel is about 5 ft high and their is 40ft beetween them, with a small 5 hp enginee to drive them across the field. they work well but their is a lot of moving parts to maintain the ones in the pic our my neighbors. i have 500 pieces of 40 ft lengths of pipe that you move by hand. that i dont use much anymore since we quit growing potatoes. i have nt had to much trouble with predators i make sure all the doors are shut at night and i have 2*8 baseboards going around so its hard to dig under. i ve had a few small incidents with racoons, they are dead. and one real bad one with a dog. which i never did catch
