Hello Old Wheel, The bottom of the key groove is rounded or moon shaped, so if you rap it with a punch on one end as Dick suggested it should roll up out of the groove. If it takes hard hits, a buck as jms suggests would be good too. New keys are available at hardware stores or auto parts.

JB weld would fill the groove but I'm not sure you could smooth it up good with the shaft in its current position.
