My sister-in-laws mother got a phone call; when she answered it the caller said "Grandma???". Then she said " (grandsons name), is that you?". He proceeded to tell her that he was stuck in Niagara Falls and needed money for bail and such... She actually went to the bank to get the money and thank goodness one of the tellers found out what was going on and stopped her. She practically went crazy because she had been fed such a believable story that she insisted that here grandson needed help. Such a simple con, but effective and scary all the same.
