Most oil is imported. From non union sources, such as Saudia Arabia. Most refinery and oilfield jobs in the US are non union. What I find interesting is that a refinery has a fire in England, and within 24 hours our pump prices are increased. It seems to me that that this is "front running " on a grand scale. That gas in the station's tanks didn't cost any more to the station's owners. But it cost a lot more for the consumer to buy!
