Obviously you are not as up to date as you might like to think. You mentioned: What if the shoe was on the other foot? You seem to be forgetting what happened when the Russian spy plane landed here in America years back. Not only did we not hold them HOSTAGE, we fueled their plane up and wished them a safe trip back home. Or, in all your education, have you forgot that?
