You are getting off easy. Last year my Wife hit a deer with our 2006 Vibe. The total was just over $6500, with over half of that new parts cost. And that was the SECOND deer that car had killed. It also has hit a BEAR! That car has been in the body shop more than the total of all the cars I have ever owned.
After dark, in my area, you better be driving really slow or you risk hitting deer. I have lived on the same property for more than 50 years, and I think there are 10 times as many deer around now than when I was a kid. It is totally futile to try to garden unless you protect the area with a very tight 10 foot fence.
