I have been watching this issue for months on other sites. When you have heads redone or resurfaced, the valve guides are generally updated and do not need to use additives. Although you may not need it, I have yet to hear anyone say it ruined their motor because of it. It was eliminated in automobiles because of pollutents. Basically I see it as added lubricant insurance. It sounds to me most people don't run it because the inconvenience to buy the additive. When I bought my tractor, the farmer said he never used it because he had the heads redone. I used it just for the protection and have not had a problem yet. If it does not harm the tractor, and provides better lubricating properties, why not spend 3 dollars a bottle.
