a couple of things come to mind. The most common
is a loose control spring. with fairly heavy
implement on hitch. the spring should turn but
with a fair amount of hand torque req'd.To adjust,
the top link spring pin on tractor side is removed and the
pin holder can be turned on the threaded rod that goes
into the tractor. It usually won't turn, so some
disassemby may be inorder. I've heard of people using
"horseshoe" shaped washers to take up slack but have never
seen them used. Sounds like a temporary thing anyway.
try lots of CRC-556 solvent under the big spring to try
to free up threaded rod. the other is the cam on the lever
wears. to compensate there are 4 slotted holes behind
the lever. it should be moved so that the implement
begins to lower when handle is about 1-1/2" from
the upper most position.
