I've heard of guys chopping dry stocks into a forage wagon and unloading the wagon making a windrow in the yard or on a slab then follow with the small square baler. Extra work but keeps the small square baler from getting beat up in the rough corn fields. Probably get more of what you chop in the wagon too since the rake won't get all of it wind-rowed. I suppose it would be less trips and therefore less compaction in the field too.
