Here in Westerm Canada I have seen use of a haybine first then when rows have been baled , yes it is hard on the square baler but has been done, also mostly older styled round New Holland balers are suited as the bars are steel across the width of the baler , but tend then to bend them after some time, I have also seen larger square balers the 3x6 ft size bale used, most corn is chopped now and fed from piles in the feed storage yard
