The main and connecting rod bearings should have
an oil clearance of between .0015 and .0025. My
manual recommends using plastique - a compound that
compresses like putty between the crankshaft and
the bearings.

The manual also states that if the cylinder to
sleeve gap exceeds .005 that the rings be replaced
but also says that the clearance after re-assembly
should be .007 max.

Not sure I know what you're asking on the last question though.
