Diesel Poppet (Injector Nozzle) Valves Sticking?

I finally picked up some manuals (with the exception of the fuel injector manual unforntunately) for my TD6 at the Tulare tractor show and found some answers to my heat related missing and overheating problems. It seems my engine starts fine, runs for a while and then when it reaches run temp, starts to miss and smoke a little. A friend familiar with this tractor suggested a quart of transmission fluid in the fuel tank to attempt to unstick the injector valves. By feeling the injector lines, it seems two cylinders are affected with sticking injector valves. Any ideas out there? Where could I obtain replacements if the dextron doesn't do the trick?
