The process for bleeding brakes is you start with the farthest one from the mastercylinder which is the right rear then move to the left rear then right front and left front. For the caliper make sure you got the right one for the side it is on. If you put the left on the right the bleeder screw will be on the bottom side and the hose on top and you'll never get the air out. Same goes for the rear brake cylinders, the bleeder screw should be above the brake line. I've seen people replace these items on fords before and say what you're saying. Make sure your brake push rod has a 1/8" free play before activating the mastercylinder.
