The one I killed yesterday was of the smaller variety, but looked bigger through the binoculars. Seems they have shorter legs than a dog, smaller body, but not much, the head was full size like a dog. I have seen ones that were much bigger and healthier, not very often, but you do see them.
We never had any here until 6-10 years ago, or at least I never heard, saw signs of them, there was a long gap since the mid-late 60's which was the last time I heard of one being taken around here. One animal I was shocked to see around here was a Bobcat.
