Besides the practical reasons well covered previously the standard looks better.
A row crop with an adjustable wide front end looks like a "praying mantous" insect. Appears fragile as well.
The standard is most common in the western plains & for some unknown reason in Ontario along with rollomatic rowcrops. An adjustable wide rowcrop is unusual around here.
