The good Howard rotovators aren't made anymore. In heavy work a rototiller takes 10 HP per foot. A good heavy duty tiller will be pricey and if you have rocks, expect to have to do some repairs to it and replace a lot of blades. Rototillers are very slow as well. You can do things in one pass but with a disc you can go over it about 4 times in the same amount of time. I think you'd be best to use a cultivator or chisel plow first, pick as many rocks as possible and then disc it. Rocks will break disc blades just like they will break rototiller blades though. You're more likely to damage the tractor with a rototiller in rocks. Slip clutches don't prevent all shock loads to the tractor. Dave
