Sorry about the house. My experience would indicate you will go over budget on the house. Hey, I go over budget on everything! Here's the problem I foresee. If you just got that road put in this spring and you are going to have heavy equipment and trucks on it, you are going to have major maintenance to do on it. It has not been stabilized by going through a winter and mild packing-down traffic. Most farm tractors and certainly not the lighter smaller ones won't efficiently do that kind of road maintenance anyhow. The best bet is a layer of big (3 inch plus) limestone. Hire someone with heavy equipment to fix the road when it needs done. You can put smaller rock down later. The Ford N is arguably your best bet to keep most of your money when you trade or sell it. Buy a good one and fix it up and paint it and you could make money. If the economy collapses, we are all in the toilet anyhow so don't worry about that.
