Doesn't like your a hunter and a 44mag is at 10 yards or less with #8 shot shell more then enough to kill. but you know very few animals drop dead right where you shot them. I know I hunt a lot and have had deer travel a half mile on half a heart and that is a almost perfect shot for deer but they can/will still go a long ways. I have shot coons in the head at point blank range with a 22 and they have gone 50 yards plus but are in fact walking dead. Your not talking to a person who doesn't know how to shoot here as a matter of fact I was at one time a hunter safety instructor for the state and had the navy marks man metal also but at 10-12PM I'm not going to go running after an animal that I shoot when it is a varmint and is the type of animal that is open to shoot year round.
