We used to haul our stock car on one like that only we had a 1951. The bed was pretty high and to load the car we had to use two sets of planks on each side with blocks in the middle to support the planks. Usually when we loaded and made the run up there and barely stopped at the end of the bed, all of the ramps would be laying on the ground. I remember one time after a wreck we had to run up the ramps without any clutch linkage. Now that was fun. We never thought anything about it, that was just part of the game. I wish that I could be that care free now. Another thing is that the 4 speeds in those trucks were non synchromesh so a person learned to double clutch pretty good after awhile.
