I understand what you're saying Dave, but just try to back a trailer with two cords of wood on it up someones' driveway some night. OK, one cord. There are places for those big heavy duty pickups but I will agree most who own them don't really need them. And, what's safety worth? I drive 60k a year in a pickup that gets 20mpg when I know that a VW Jetta TDI or a Prius will come in at around 50. Why? Safety, plus I need to haul things. 1000 pound things that are bulky. Pull a trailer down the Ohio Turnpike with a Prius? Or, worse yet, through PAs hills? I don't think so.
