I read this post earlier this morning, so I paid a little attention while on my way to my parents farm. Seems as though about 1/2 of the farms between my house and the farm are still active. My house is right by a barn that has beefers in it. I have the 1st option to buy when the gentleman decides to get out, and he's got 80 acres here. I doubt I'd go dairy, but I would consider keeping beef or maybe raising some heifers if my parents are still going at it.
Would probably have to make room for a horse or 2 for my wife though...
