Seen my Uncle at age 67 jump on a live buck with a knife and kill it. The bellowing, yelling, grunting,cursing, flying mud and blood was something I'll always remember. A little background. The buck had been pushed out of the bush, shot "dead" by the blockers and landed out in a corn field 60yrds from the fence row. From where the blockers had been standing/shooting. My uncle had set his shotgun down at the fence. While pulling his knife from it's sheath at the half way point between the buck and the shotgun. The buck began staggering to his feet, intact except for missing one antler. My Uncle made a dash for the buck, wrestled it down and finished it with just the knife. My Uncle was all bruised, battered, his clothes torn and covered with mud and blood.
