Decide to change the sloppy idler arm today. It has the tapered joint that fits in the "drag link" I think its called. And the other end is about a 6" piece with two holes that bolt to the frame. This piece has an offset built in that changes the center to center pivot point about 2 inches. I think the one I took off was put on wrong. The pivots in the drag link are about 17 1/4" center to center, With the drag link the way it was, the idler arm pivot at the end of the offset arm and the one on the steering gear are about 18 3/4"C-C.Plus, the bend in the idler arm is causing wear on the frame. Question, should the pivot points on the drag link and the center to center at the end of the Idler arm bracket and the steering gear pivot be the same. Hope you can understand this question, its hard for me too.
