I think you're trying to reinvent the wheel. Are you going to change the sock every time you use the tractor? What happens if the sock gets saturated with water, wouldn't it just drip back in the trans.? Even if the sock did soak up some water, how is the water going to get out? What if the sock freezes and you can't get it out? I'm sorry but I don't think your experiment will make any difference at all. There's a lot of areas for condeansation to form other than at the fill opening. A magnetic heater or 2 on the bottom of the trans. might be a better solution. Dave
