My shop gets 10% off on some things and 30% on others. Note that is off the price people really pay when they walk in the door. NOT off the make-believe price NAPA puts on every bill that NOBODY pays. That being said, even with 30% off, I can buy parts on-line from RockAuto and do better (with no discount). I only buy from NAPA when I'm in a hurry and must have parts right away. The NAPA pricing structure has gotten redicuous.
A friend on mine owns the local NAPA and she uses three price levels. List price to walk-in customers is the highest. Of course, NAPA puts a make-believe price next to that list price so everyone thinks they're getting a deal. Problem is, some parts at HER dealer cost, are higher then walk-in prices at places like Advance Auto or Rock Auto.
A good friend of mine who has his own auto repair business dropped NAPA and now uses CarQuest. He generally gets parts 20% cheaper, as compared to his previous NAPA shop account - and they let him access their computer to check stock and/or order parts right from his shop.
