The 4speed automatic was the E4OD, which stands for electronic 4 speed automatic overdrive. The 5 speed is the ZedF Manual transmission. I personally know that the Automatic transmission has the worst warranty failures for all of the Ford Automatic transmissions made by Ford. I used to work for the company that made the electronic solenoid module that went in all the Ford F-series truck transmissions. The Ford transmissions of 20 years ago were, the E4OD, CD4E, A4lde, and the Axode, All these were automatics, I may have missed one but the E4od was the worst..........Get the Manual, German made and is (was) used on the Diesels.
