A houseboat is a good idea. We looked into them for Lake of the Ozarks and other places. However,..make sure you read all the fine print ,..they charge a pretty hefty non-refundable fee to SHOW you how to operate the boat. (Some fees are as high as $500.00.)Also you must get accident insurance,. i.e. more $$$ just so they make sure you don"t wreck their boat while you are having a good time. But if all is within your budget,..I"d say it is worth it. The wife and I are heading to either Florida or South Carolina in April. Need to get out of this snow. Getting hit pretty hard right now.
