Our 12 volt coils for the front distributor Fords do not need a resistor. Yes, all coils are not equal and some need external resistors, but, we work on a lot of tractors in a year and our theory is to do the best job possible with no repeat work for the same situation. Adding a resistor adds to potential future problems with an extra mounting, 2 extra wiring connections, etc., so we do not believe in them, just our method of work, usually simpler is better and generally lasts longer, by the way, we sell ordinary 12 volt, internal resistor coils for $15.85.
