Another consideration for the prices is NAFTA!!! While at some recent auctions in MI & FL I seen some buyers paying way above TOP DOLLAR for every piece of 4 row & smaller implements, tractors etc In FL, same situation and we locals could not compete on prices. Curiosity got the best of me so I asked why overpaying for this equipment. He informed me that many buyers are scouring the country for this older equipment, in fact some of them have coordinated their efforts. Reason is with NAFTA policy, Mexican Gov't is now subsidizing costs of small farming operations. These crops are then sold back to us in the U.S.A. These guys are buying our heritage, throwing it in a trailer & going south and selling it to the Mexican Gov't at double the $$ they paid for it. Good for them, but for us it severly shrinks the available inventory at a reasonable cost. ShepFL
