Green and Yellow paint is expensive. And I agree that both machine were most likely built by MTD. John Deere lawn equipment IS NOT of the same quality as what was made by JD in the 60's, 70's and into the mid- 80's. I would give more for a worn-out 317 than I would for a NEW JD from Lowe's.
