Why not build a heavy "box" that will slide over the Massey's drawbar with a pintle hitch pad welded to the end. Bolt the pintle hitch to the pad, slid it over the drawbar, insert a draw pin thru the "box" and drawbar and then back up to the trailer and hook up. You can then leave the trailer as is.
Alternative: Deere has a "hammer strap" that bolts to their drawbar which converts it to a clevis style hook up. Could you do something similar to the Massey?
