Hi jakee, Oil so slippery the engine won't break -in, that does sound like some kind of marketing BS doesn't it? At one time I worked for a shop that did professional level auto racing. My information on brake-in with Mobil 1 came from a tech guy who was in the shop a lot. Although thinking on this may have changed, it would contradict everything I've seen and been told. One possible explanation is this: It is becomimg more and more common for manufacturers to dyno and brake-in every engine, particularly in high end vehicles like the ones you mentioned. If that were the case it would fit with what both of us have observed...Al English
