Otherwise if you do it half-a$$ed you really don't look like you care. If you can't afford to or don't have the ability to put a light on it at night, or have have some other impediment keeping you from flying our countries flag properly then just don't do it. To be honest if a person were truly passionate about flying the flag and couldn't light it at night, they would fly it during the day and take it down at night. That's perfectly legit.
