As being a VFW times change and to be honest with ya like Mike says..I"d rather see the flag flown than not at all. Sure it is not right but atleast we may still fly her. There may come a time when we"ll not be able too. Who knows? I have mine lit up and neighbor does not. I'm glad and proud he flys one.. Take it as you want Old glory lives on. And by God i hope it is up when the other neighbor kid comes home form his tour..
