There is at least 3 ways to splice an endless belt. As the other post indicated you can use alligator clips. That is what he was talking about. Another way we used at work was gluing them together. This method is very good, but needs special tools to do also. You have to shave the belt on a bias and also taper it.They have a tool to do this. With this method you can't even see the splice easily. The other method would be to sew it, but you would need to shave each end or you would see the belt jump each time it went around the pulley. Hope this helps. If you have a harness or taack repair shop in your area they probally can do this for you.
PS. This takes special glue for the glue joint and about 12 hours drying time. The belt usually breaks somewhere other than where the glue joint is.
