For 250 you can buy a brand new something or other....maybe a Poulan and have money left over. If you cut a lot of wood, you'd want something a bit heftier than a Poulan home use saw. If you don't cut a lot of wood....buy new. Now, if you really want that Stihl...do a compression check on it. If the compression is less than 90 lbs...walk away. It might be well worn out. Never buy any engine without doing a compression check.
