Our TV has an "INPUT" button. The choices are TV, VIDEO, COMPONENT, HDMI1, HDMI2, and HDMI3.
Since nothing is connected with HDMI cables, I don't use them. On TV, the tv plays normally. When connected as the tv's owners manual shows, nothing plays on VIDEO...and on COMPONENT, only the DVD player works. Connected the way the TV owners manual shows, the DVD/VCR owners manual says "These connections support only DVD playback." So by doing what the TV's owners manual shows, the DVD/VCR unit is apparently doing what it's supposed to.
But when I connect the way the DVD/VCR's owners manual says to connect for DVD and VCR operation, NOTHING plays back on ANY "input" setting, except the TV itself in TV setting.
