Problem with some of small ones was no differential on back axle, solid axle had good straight ahead traction with both wheels getting power. Problems developed when trying to do high speed turns on firm ground- think road gear turn with differential lock engaged on tricycle/narrow front tractor=flipover. The original use as a rice paddy cheap small tractor with slow speed turns and driven by farmer was modified in US as a recreational vehicle/toy with higher speed gearing--add ethanol =disaster in making. Local cycle and snowmobile salvage yard has a old Honda 90(?) 3wheeler with solid axle yet, they put back old domestic market rear sprocket and hitch copy, makes a handy little cheap towing device for yard and shop- its original design use.
