If there a technician or a customer already in fromt of me, I always asked the person on the phone to hold until I had time to deal with them. Most walk-in customers weren't going to waste their gas if they weren't ready to buy [not including Ford employees on their days off...who would come in, price a list as long as your arm, and not buy or order anything...which is why I started scheduling the Friday after Thanksgiving as one of my vacation days].
