The best I can come up with is this.
If you take the lift assembly apart you will find a hyd cylinder. All Hyd cyl. move faster on the retract compared to extend. Reason being that the shaft takes up some of the room in the bore requiring less oil to be displaced.
This is also why cylinders have more power on the extend stroke as well. Also the reason that you should always check your oil level with the cylinders retracted to prevent over filling.
