I found the Spring and remains of springhouse structure and foundation in what used to be the bottoms meadow ,. House and barn all gone for 30 years now , That barn was built in 1914 covered over 1/2acre ... gambrel style roof had 4 sets 22 ft length rafters ( as per great Uncle Les) , 11 feet of clear ceiling height underneath the loft for milking and farrowing baby pigs,. the Loft area was so big that we always could find a corner to play basketball when we visited back then , and on one end the floor was tongue and groove , for small grains , with a hammer mill directly underneath , ..... A lot of "Legacy of OLD Barn and Family Farm" / YOUR Stories come from memories of great grandpas barn , but,the County Commissioner part happened at my barn.. Because and From those many fruitful efforts , today at noon we had another LAND TRUST meeting ... And Now for the PUBLIC SERVICE PLEA ..Folks , We have got to do Smart Growth in the United States and take care of OUR best Land for Future generations ..
