I bought one in 1986 and was quite disappointed with it. Very underpowered in my opinion. I used it for about a year doing several projects I wanted to complete and then sold it for $100 less than I had paid for it. Worked for me.
I now have a 1720 which is the next size up and newer. No comparison at all. The 1720 will do twice the work the 1500 would. Well maybe not twice but you get the idea.
