Case from Boston area: FBI knew that their informat was involved in a murder, that the 3 people charged with murder were innocent but FBI didn't inform prosecuter or defense counsel of exculpatory evidence. Innocent people convicted, one died in prison. Evidence finally uncovered when FBI informant (organized crime member) cover blown and FBI agents investigated for misconduct. Civil wrongful prosection and wrongful death suits about 5 million to 15 million filed, wrongfully convicted prisoners released. Withholding exculpatory evidence by a state or federal agent is misconduct in office charge criminally now in many cases- a few security issue loopholes, statute of limitations may apply dated from time of knowledge of evidence.
