Budha engines

Hey guys - this isn't a tractor question but a lot you guys know about engines so I thought I'd ask - anyone ever heard of or have experience with budha engines. Some friends of mine are trying to restore a shop sized locomotive and it has a budha engine made somewhere around 1930. It looks like its set up for propane. Any info would be helpful.
