There is a hunting season here in Az for mourning doves. They are fun to hunt because they are VERRY fast and it takes quite a lead to hit them. If you can hit dove consistantly then you can hit just about anything that flies.BUT, they are being crowded out by the collard dove which is an introduced , non native bird from the Indian subcontinent. They can be hunted also and there in no limit on them. Just as tasty too.
