Change at the intervals suggested in your CAR'S MANUAL for the type of driving you do. They go to a lot of trouble to determine what is right for what type of driving you do. Same with type and weight of oil. What I have learned to like even better is the oil change monitor built into our Chevys. That sucker calculates the optimum oil change intervals based on how that vehicle is being driven. The oil change places would LOVE to have you come in every 3000. About twice as often as my oil change monitor tells me to do it. 30 vehicles, we trade out around 250,000 and have not lost an engine in 10 years.
