Bought my nephew an Ertl 4010 John Deere for his 2nd birthday this week. Within 10 minutes of carpet farming (and NOT roughhousing--he'd barely touched the tractor) a front wheel fell off. Stuck that on and the other one followed suit 5 minutes later. Turns out they're just pot-metal caps stuck on the ends of the axle. JB Welded them back on and hope they'll stay put. For what we paid for it, I'd expect something that could at least hold up to a bit of play--we've still got the Ford tractors we got for Christmas 35+ years ago, and those are being used by the 4th generation of kids!
