...yes, I agree. I think. It WAS all of us. Collective greed, I guess you'd call it.
Because none of us are happy earning decent returns anymore. It's got to be BIG returns NOW. And it works for a while - until there is a crash, a 'readjustment', if you will, every several years. I've had quite a few friends with 401k plans who have lost their money twice now in the last 15 years.
Of course, most of their money was in the high-risk funds (stocks) - and the operative word there is 'risk'. They made a bunch of moolah (sp?), but they lost it again. We had a meeting with the mutual fund people when our company went to the 401k system; they told us we would each have at least a million when we retired. Ha. Ha-ha.
