I installed seat belts in a new 1959 Rambler wagon before it was ever a state law. In 1961 my sister was a passenger in a car that was hit head-on. My sister's head went out through the windshield. Had she been wearing a seatbelt she probably would've been hurt so severely. Now with shoulder straps and the seat belt along with air bags. You're more likely not to be injured. My nephew won't wear them since he's so fat and weighs over 300 he thinks he will burn to death. I told him if he's ever ejected going 65 mph he'll wish he had that seat belt and shoulder harness on.
